Okay, my question is simple - What happens if you disconnect the wires in RFID tag? Does it makes the tag defunct, or does the tag work as usual?
My theory is, that active tags are pretty dead from that treatment, but I don't have a clue what happens with passive one. Does the reader still receive the data or just reports the damage, in the even that it can't identify the tag?
Thank for your answers.
makes it defunct..
The RF tags 'resonate' they are fix frequency Radio recievers...
so anything that removes the antenna, breaks the circuit or changes its frequency...
is going to make not resonate.. and so it will not respond..
Passive ones are detected because
- they collect power to be come active and send a signal back.
- they just aborb power.. and that power absorption is detected..
stopping the power absorption/resonance by any means stops it
Hence, when they put them over the de-activator in the shop they are putting excessive energy into the device to blow its internal fuse, and stop it resonating thus 'disconnecting' it anyway.
